ONE IDEA, THEN ONE MORE THING ยท 06
Make a recording sound clearer.
Hear what EQ changes, keep the version you like, then finish the edit in Audio Lab.

Your starting point
Open EQ playground and choose a sample. For your own voice or instrument, choose Change sound, then Record or Upload. Clips can be up to 30 seconds and 12 MB.
- 01
Listen before you change anything
Press Play and choose Original. Listen for one thing you want to change: a boomy low end, a harsh note, or a dull sound. EQ changes the balance of frequencies; it does not remove every kind of background noise.
- 02
Move one band
Choose With effect. Pull a low band down a little if the recording sounds boomy, or try a small lift higher up if it sounds dull. Change one thing at a time so you can hear what it did.
- 03
Check the original again
Switch between Original and With effect. Keep the change only if it helps the recording. Try a smaller move before adding another band.
- 04
Finish the edit in Audio Lab
Choose Download effect WAV, then Edit this recording in Audio Lab. In Audio Lab, choose Upload and select the WAV you downloaded. The EQ is already in the file. Trim the beginning or end, add any other effects you need, and export the finished audio.
What to listen for
Listen for whether the voice or instrument is easier to follow. A brighter or louder version is not always the better one. Keep enough of the original sound that it still feels like the same recording.
One more thing to try
For a voiceover or a short recording, Audio Lab can be the whole job. If this is one part of a song, use the Melodic Studio button on the EQ tool to bring it into a new track and add instruments.
