ONE IDEA, THEN ONE MORE THING · 04
Make the moment before the drop.
Play an eight-beat transition and keep the movement you recorded.

Your starting point
Choose a rising transition, eight beats, and 120 BPM. Eight beats at this tempo last four seconds.
- 01
Find the movement
Play the riser and move the pad. Across bends the pitch; up raises the brightness and level. Find a shape you want to play through the build.
- 02
Record one pass
Stop, then press Record a pass. Start lower on the pad and move up toward the end. The recording stops after eight beats and captures the instrument output, not the microphone.
- 03
Keep this take
Use this transition in Melodic Studio brings the recorded audio and the recording’s tempo. Changing the controls after recording does not rewrite the take. Discard recording if you want to make another.
- 04
Add the next section
In Studio, add a drum part and place it after the transition on the Timeline. At 120 BPM the eight-beat riser ends at the start of bar three. Play through that join and adjust the placement by ear.
What to listen for
The rise works because of what follows it. Leave a tiny gap or let the beat enter right at the end, then compare. The layered tone and pitch sweep have different textures; record one pass of each.
One more thing to try
Build the section after the riser. Keep the drums simple at first so you can hear whether the transition lands where you want it.
